- Levin (bard) and Silvia (dancer): They'll join after conquering Heirhein.
- Beowulf (free knight): Talk to him with any character; he'll ask for 10.000 coins (and he keep them).
- Fury (pegasus knight): Talk to her with Levin.
• General strategy:
1. Heirhein
Our chapter takes place in Augustria, a nation ruled by the most important lords of the place. Apparently someone killed the king, so Shagaal, his son, assumed the control. This man was ambitious, so he started a war against Grandbell. Eltshan, king of Nodion, tries reasoning with Shagaal, but he imprisons him. That's where our mission starts, having as the main objective freeing Eltshan.
I must also say that this is one of my favourite missions. So, this chapter is very different to the former ones, especially because of the open map. Most of your enemies are cavaliers; they can cover a lot of the map, besides moving much farther than simple bandits. The first ones to initiate the attack are Heirhein, who will attack Nodion.
Before going out you can train in the arena, and if you beat all of them, Holyn (swordfighter) will join you. By the way, look if any characters want to talk to other ones, sometimes it can help you. Rush to rescue Lachesis (you have to talk to her with Sigurd to recruit her). It's very important to save Lachesis and her knights (you'll get a knight ring if they end the chapter alive, and they follow Lachesis, so keep this in mind).
For the same reason you must take care of Elliot and his knights. Elliot has a silver lance, try to kill him with Cuan or Fin to get it. Also (very important), Anphony will send some bandits to destroy the villages. In one of them there's a very useful item, the Bargain Ring (red square); it halves prices in the shops and the repair shop. Frankly, it's very hard to reach that village; you'd actually have to take the first castle in at least 9 or 10 turns. Best of lucks.
After recruiting Lachesis, have her stay as far away as possible from the other enemies so her knights will also stay far from them. Now send your team to defeat the remaining enemies, there's two ballistae you have to take care of, the rest isn't much of a problem. After defeating Phillip you'll get a return ring. Next's Heirhein castle, where Boldo is, a very easy boss who has a barrier ring, give it to Sigurd if you can. You can also go to the red circle with Ardan to get a Pursuit ring.

2. Anphony
Save the remaining villages!! In fact, this is the only important thing in this part, since there's an iron cutter (blue square), effective against armored units, and in the one I mentioned earlier, a Bargain ring. Truth is, this part is much easier. Vortz and his mercenaries will appear at the top of the map, so you have time to heal yourself, visit the arena, etc. Think about who'll kill Vortz because he has an Elite ring, perfect for underleveled units.
Levin and Sylvia will appear in the closed village, they can help you kill some bandits. After this, go to Anphony castle to defeat Macbeth and get a Shield ring (+5 defense), useful for low defense units.

Before conquering Anphony, it's necessary to send ALL of your units, and Sigurd, close to Nodion castle, and Levin, close to Evans Castle (send also a strong unit to defend the castle). Also check if there are any units who want to talk to others. And now, conquer Anphony.
3. Mackily
Mackily isn't a problem, really. The problem's the ballistae close to the castle. Be careful with Clement, he has a Sleep staff. Everything else is pretty easy. Also, have Levin close to Evans castle: Fury's squadron will go after him (you can talk to her with Levin to recruit her).

Clement is pathetically easy, you only have to take care of his sleep staff. You can silence him with Deirdre and attack him with Sigurd, or kill him with Aideen (if she's promoted) to get his staff. Also, that staff's only got one use, but on the enemies the uses can be infinite.
4. Agusty
Not much to say, time to go after Shagaal to end the mission. However, he'll send a group of cavaliers to face us; it's the only hard part of this part of the game. The boss is DANGEROUS, his weapon is effective against Sigurd, Cuan and Fin among others; keep that in mind when you face him. After defeating them, go after the remaining soldiers and rush to the castle.

Shagaal is pretty easy; you can defeat him with long range attacks, or with Aideen to get his staff. Make sure you get most of the mentioned items. Also fight in the arena as much as you can (at this point your units should be around level 10). After that, seize the castle. If the three knights of Nodion are alive, when the chapter ends they'll give Lachesis a Knight ring.
