Chapter 17E: Pirate Ship

Chapter's objective: Survive for 11 turns or kill the boss.

• New Characters:

• Reinforcements:
- Turn 3 and 4 in hard mode:
1 Shaman from the left ship, from the "A".
- Turn 3 and 10 (turn 5 too in hard mode): From the right ship.
A Mercenary (middle of the ship).
A Myrmidon (upper part).
- Turn 5 (3 and 10 too in hard mode):
2 Shaman from the stairs on the left ship.
- Turn 7 (enemy): Another ship from the bottom part of the map (look at the picture, it appears along with those enemies and they move when they come out).
- Turn 9: From the bottom, left to right...
2 Pegasus Knight from the sea.
2 Mercenary from the stairs of the last ship.
1 Myrmidon from the bottom part of the right ship..
- Turn 9 to 11 in hard mode: the enemies that appeared inside the third enemy ship will reappear.
• Augury:
"Stay…still. Choose your ground, and fight where you stand.
Danger for... knights... Armorslayers to the east, magic to the west...
...Heh heh heh. You'll understand when the fighting starts. Pegasus knights… yes.
It couldn't hurt to have thieves along, either..."
• Strategy:
At first there are two ships that want to assault yours, one filled with shamans and the other one filled with mercenaries, archers and myrmidons. To put the shaman's ship under control send Lucius and Erk if he's high-leveled (but anima magic is weak to dark, light isn't) or Florina if she has already a good level because she has good resistance and she'll barely receive any damage while killing the mages in almost one turn, and if you kill the boss, then you win the mission.
The right ship is harder to control, put Oswin on one of the gangways to control the enemies' attack, thanks to his defense he will barely receive any damage (it'd be best to put him on the bottom gangway). As for the other gangway, you can alternate between Cavaliers, Lyn, Raven and Guy, but be careful with the longsword, it's effective against cavaliers and also a reinforcement myrmidon brings an armorslayer from the right ship.
If you didn't kill the boss earlier, on the 7th enemy turn, a third ship will appear from the bottom part of the map, as well as more foes from the right ship, if your team isn't very good it'd be best to avoid this situation by trying to kill the boss.
Remember to buy as much as needed at the shops, since you'll be 3 chapters without being able of buying anything except at a secret shop, and their items are pretty expensive.

The boss doesn't move (but he will attack if you are within two squares from him) and as the shaman he is, he's weak to light magic, but characters like a fighter or a Myrmidon with good attack and/or speed can deal him quite some damage. Pure Water is useless against him, since his magic pierces resistance. Also remember that you might be unlucky and receive a critical hit from him... so, use units with good luck.
