Chapter 19E: Dragon's Gate
Chapter's objective: Seize the throne • Village/Items: • Reinforcements: • New Characters: • Augury: • Strategy: Bring your axe-users, best if you bring them all, since most of the foes are knights, soldiers, cavaliers and a few reinforcement peg knights. Bring also Raven to take maximum profit of the Longsword, since Eliwood and Lyn already have their special weapons and Guy has less defense and can fall easily fighting against a cavalier. Once again, the Lords' special weapons will be very useful, as well as the hammer and magic attacks, but always try to attack with normal weapons to avoid wasting the uses of such uncommon weapons. Recruit Legault and send him to steal the Member Card that has an enemy thief which will grant you access to the secret shops. The thieves will escape from the map as soon as they have stealed the treasure chests at the left side of the map by going to the upper corner, because of that you have to catch up with him before that happens, but you have time... if you don't take chests 2 and 3, Legault will go for them crossing the door in front of Darin, allowing you to talk with him on turn 6, and the reinforcement thief of turn 7 will escape on turn 14 from where Legault appeared. But to make things easier, carry keys (door and chest). That way you won't have to trust only in your thief. You can do two different things: to divide your team in two groups, one taking the central path and the other going through the room with the door in front of your beginning point. Be careful with the sniper at your left. Whether you divide them or not, you must beware that the enemies are all together and if you leave an unit alone, it might die.
Cameron won't be much trouble, just attack him with Hector or Lyn and theirs special weapons and he'll die in a few hits, just put someone as bait because he won't move unless you're in his attack range. Beware, though, that a cavalier and him have weapons effective against armored units and cavalry. Leave a good axe-user along with an archer near Merlinus to get rid of the Peg. Knights of turn 9. Be also very careful with turn 20's reinforcements, if you don't eliminate them quickly enough, they might accumulate and become a serious problem.
If you don't know what you're doing, Darin can kill you with one only hit. Don't attack him with Iron weapons. At first, use magic at distance against him to unable his counterattack... The problem is that if you don't finish him off that turn, during his turn he'll attack with his Hand Axe... to avoid this, rescue the magician, then take it with another unit and drop it so you can attack with him the next turn (specially do this if he can die otherwise). So prepare everything before going against him. You can also use Dart with his Hammer, then Sain/Kent with the Heavy Lance and if he's still alive, the use Hector's Wolf Beil or Raven with the Armorslayer, but it'll all ultimately depend on who have you trained. • Strategy for Eliwood Hard Mode:
